Diabetes

Some diabetes can be helped with a change in diet and lifestyle.

We offer a help in reducing diabetes, mainly for type 2 and it begins with sugar.

There are a few herbs that are naturally sweet and can be used to sweeten things in place of sugar, corn syrup and other high calorie sweeteners.

Licorice and stevia are two of our most important sugar replacements with stevia becoming more and more popular.

We use growing stevia plants and use the growing tips to sweeten beverages and baked goods.

The basic idea is to make herbal teas and beverages with fresh stevia, and cut the calorie sweeteners in your body.

What we are correcting

It may seem unbelivable, but some soft drinks such as Coca Cola and commercial Root Beer can contain as much as 10 teaspoons of sugar for a 12 ounce can.

Drink two or three of these a day and thats 30 teaspoon of sugar or corn syrup for your body to eliminate.

The solution is to make beverages that only use the fresh stevia leaf for sweetener. This can easily remove 30 teaspoons of sugar from your diet every day.

Morning beverage

If your morning starts with a coffee or teas with added sugar, then replace that added sugar with fresh stevia leaf. Three fresh spring can replace a teaspoon of sugar for sweetener.

During the day, hot herbal teas of fresh basil, peppermint, rosemary or sage, sweetened with stevia, are very refreshing and will be a tasty alternative to the Coca Cola or fresh juice you were drinking.

We offer a recipe for a traditional Ozark root Beer, updated with international information.

Article in Maximum Yield on Stevia by Peggy Bradley

Fresh leaf is available if you grow your own stevia plants. Seedlings are available for $5.00 during the spring and fall seasons.

Growing stevia
Stevia is a tropical plant and cannot stand freezing. So if you want to grow stevia year round it will need to be grown indoors in the winter or in a climate controlled greenhouse area.
To have six springs of stevia a day will probably require ten active growing plants.
